India u-19 vs Sri Lanka u-19: The India Under-19 team delivered a commanding performance as they thrashed Sri Lanka Under-19 by 8 wickets to book a place in the final of the Asia Cup 2025.
The semifinal, reduced to 20 overs per side due to a wet outfield, saw India dominate from start to finish and set up a high-voltage final against archrivals Pakistan on Sunday. Pakistan secured their spot in the final after defeating Bangladesh in the other semifinal.
Chasing a target of 139 runs in 20 overs, India finished the match at 139 for 2 with two overs to spare. Aaron George and Vihaan Malhotra played match-winning knocks, scoring unbeaten half-centuries to completely shut Sri Lanka out of the contest in the shortened game.
Earlier, Sri Lanka managed early breakthroughs by dismissing Ayush Mhatre for 7 and Vaibhav Suryavanshi for 9. However, Aaron and Vihaan then took full control of the chase, stitching together an unbeaten 114-run partnership to guide India home comfortably.
Aaron George remained not out on 58, while Vihaan Malhotra scored 61 off 45 balls, punishing the Lankan bowlers and sealing a convincing victory for India.
