Chinese smartphone maker Vivo is getting ready to launch a new V-series phone, which is expected to be the Vivo V70, the successor to the Vivo V60. Ahead of any official announcement, a Vivo V-series device has reportedly received certification from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the US.
According to the FCC documents, the upcoming smartphone will be available in a variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The phone is also tipped to be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset.
Vivo V70 Listed on FCC Website
The FCC listing, spotted via TheTechOutlook, includes a test report for a Vivo smartphone carrying the model number V2538 and FCC ID 2AUCYV2538. This model number has earlier been linked to the Vivo V70.
The certification confirms a configuration with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. It also suggests that the device may run Android 16, possibly with Vivo’s OriginOS 6 skin on top. The listing further confirms support for Wi-Fi 6, 5G connectivity, NFC, and Bluetooth.
The same Vivo V70 model has also appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website and Geekbench under the model number V2538, indicating that the launch could be close. These listings revealed that the phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, paired with 8GB RAM, and will run Android 16.
On Geekbench, the device scored 1,235 points in the single-core test and 3,920 points in the multi-core test.
The Vivo V70 is expected to bring improvements over the Vivo V60, which was launched in August, although Vivo may continue using the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset. The Vivo V60 featured a Zeiss-backed triple rear camera setup with a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP telephoto lens with OIS, and an ultrawide camera, along with a 50MP front camera.
The Vivo V60 also packed a 6,500 mAh battery with 90 W fast charging support and came with a 6.77-inch AMOLED display. It offered IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance.
