Andra vs Delhi: Virat Kohli marked his return to domestic cricket in style, becoming only the second Indian batter to complete 16,000 List A runs during Delhi’s Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025 match against Andhra Pradesh at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.
Kohli reached the landmark with the very first run of Delhi’s chase of 299, taking his List A tally to 16,000 runs from 343 matches. Overall, he is now the ninth batter in world cricket to achieve the feat, joining legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Kumar Sangakkara, Sir Vivian Richards, Ricky Ponting, and Sanath Jayasuriya. Kohli went on to score a century in the match and currently boasts an impressive List A average of 57.34.

Kohli entered the tournament in red-hot form after a prolific home ODI series against South Africa, where he scored 135, 102 and an unbeaten 65 to win the Player of the Series award. In domestic 50-over cricket for Delhi, Kohli has now played 16 matches, scoring 910 runs at an average of 60.66, including four centuries and four half-centuries.

Rohit Sharma also made his Vijay Hazare Trophy return memorable, hammering a superb 155 off 94 balls against Sikkim. His knock guided Mumbai to a comfortable eight-wicket victory. Earlier, Mumbai had restricted Sikkim to 236 for 7 after bowling first, with Shardul Thakur picking up two wickets.
Rohit opened the innings with Angkrish Raghuvanshi, stitching together a 141-run partnership. He then added 85 runs for the second wicket with Musheer Khan, sealing a dominant win for Mumbai.
December 24 turned into a batting festival on the opening day of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26. Bihar piled up a 500-plus total against Arunachal Pradesh, with Saqibul Gani smashing the fastest List A century. Ishan Kishan and Vaibhav Suryavanshi also struck rapid hundreds, contributing to one of the highest List A totals ever recorded.
