The Street Fighter trailer finally dropped at The Game Awards, and honestly, it was way better than most of us expected. A lot of people were worried a live-action Street Fighter movie would look goofy, but the trailer shut that down fast. As soon as the Street Fighter trailer dropped, it jumped straight into nonstop action — Chun-Li kicking people across the screen, Guile hitting the flash kick, and characters getting juggled just like the games.
The costumes look solid, too. Sure, it still has that “Hollywood cosplay” vibe, but in a fun way that fits Street Fighter’s over-the-top style. The trailer doesn’t really explain the story, but it’s clear they’re going for pure Street Fighter energy, and that’s honestly what fans wanted from a first look.
Visually, the movie feels closer to Street Fighter 6, with bright neon colors and a more modern, urban style. The cast is stacked as well: Noah Centineo as Ken, Andrew Koji as Ryu, Callina Liang as Chun-Li, Roman Reigns as Akuma, Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim, Jason Momoa as Blanka, and many more. We won’t know if the story is any good until 2026, but from this first Street Fighter trailer, it looks like the movie might actually pull it off this time.
