Perry has been part of RCB in all three seasons of the Women’s Premier League. She is one of the most important players in WPL history and is the second-highest run-scorer in the league. She also played a major role in helping RCB win the WPL title in 2024. Despite her strong record and importance to the team, she decided to step away from the 2026 season due to personal matters.
Because of Perry’s withdrawal, RCB has signed Indian pace-bowling all-rounder Sayali Satghare as her replacement. Satghare has played three ODIs for India and previously represented Gujarat Giants. She has appeared in four WPL matches across two seasons and has been signed by RCB for her base price of INR 30 lakh.
Along with Perry, Annabel Sutherland has also withdrawn from WPL 2026 for personal reasons. She was retained by Delhi Capitals for INR 2.2 crore. Delhi Capitals have named Australia legspinner Alana King as her replacement.
In the same season, Tara Norris will also miss the WPL 2026, but for a different reason. She has been called up to play for the USA in the 2026 T20 World Cup Qualifiers. UP Warriorz have replaced her with Australian batting all-rounder Charli Knott.
So, Ellyse Perry is not playing in the WPL 2026 purely because of personal reasons and not due to injury, form, or team selection.

Her absence marks a significant moment for RCB, as Perry has been one of the most consistent performers in WPL history. She was retained by the franchise for Rs 2 crore ahead of WPL 2026 and has scored 972 runs across three seasons. In 2024, she won the Orange Cap after scoring 347 runs at an average of 69.40 and played a key role in RCB winning the title.
Apart from her batting, Perry has also contributed with the ball, taking 14 wickets in the WPL. She holds the record for the best bowling figures in the league with 6/15 against the Mumbai Indians. Her ability to stabilize the middle order and deliver important breakthroughs made her one of RCB’s most valuable players.
Even though she will not be on the field in WPL 2026, Perry’s message and continued support have given RCB emotional strength as they begin their title defense.
