During the IPL 2026 Auction, many names were purchased for massive prices; however, the auction also saw several prominent cricketers surprisingly going unsold initially, before a few were picked up in later rounds.

Despite strong recent domestic performances, batters like Prithvi Shaw and Sarfaraz Khan initially found no takers, although they were later purchased for their base price in the accelerated round by Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings, respectively.

Other established international names, such as New Zealand opener Devon Conway and Australian pacer Spencer Johnson, also remained unsold, demonstrating a cautious approach from franchises towards certain marquee players.
