The India ODI squad for the three-match series against New Zealand has been announced. Shubman Gill will captain the team and return after a toe injury from the South Africa T20Is. Shreyas Iyer is named vice-captain, but he will play only if cleared fit, as he is recovering from a spleen injury from last year’s Australia ODIs.
Rishabh Pant is the backup wicketkeeper. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will lead the batting, with KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal as reserve openers. Ruturaj Gaikwad has been dropped.
Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya are rested to stay fresh for the T20 World Cup 2026. Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar will handle all-rounder and spin duties along with Kuldeep Yadav.
The pace attack includes Mohammed Siraj, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, and Prasidh Krishna.
