Harshit Rana is an Indian international cricketer. He represents Delhi in domestic cricket and plays for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League. He was part of the Indian teams that won the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy and the 2025 Asia Cup.
He played his first international match in the opening Test of the 2024–25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia on 22 November 2024 in Perth. His T20I debut came on 31 January 2025 against England in Pune, where he came into the match as a concussion replacement for Shivam Dube.
Rana made his ODI debut against England on 6 February 2025 and returned figures of 3 for 53. He was later selected in India’s 15-player squad for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy after Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out with an injury. On 25 October 2025, he recorded figures of 4 for 39 at the Sydney Cricket Ground, which were the best bowling figures by an Indian at that venue.

Harshit Rana won the IPL title with Kolkata Knight Riders in 2024. He was KKR’s joint second-highest wicket-taker in the IPL 2024 season. He finished as the fourth-highest wicket-taker overall in IPL 2024 with 19 wickets. He maintained a strong economy rate of 9.85 in death overs during IPL 2024.
Rana took 21 wickets in five Ranji Trophy first-class matches in his debut season. He scored an unbeaten 122 off 86 balls from No. 9 in the Duleep Trophy for North Zone in 2023. He picked up seven wickets in five matches at the ACC Emerging Men’s Cup for India A. He earned an India squad call-up in July 2024.

Harshit Rana’s Personal Life
Harshit Pradeep Rana was born on December 22, 2001, in Ghevra village near the Delhi–Haryana border. He comes from a simple background. His father, Pradeep Rana, was a CRPF hammer thrower and weightlifter and played a big role in pushing him toward sports. Harshit started cricket training at the age of 10.
Rana used to attend practice sessions early in the morning and again in the afternoon. By the time he was in seventh grade, he joined a local cricket academy in Kirti Nagar, where he trained under his first coach, known as Shervani sir. His family follows Hinduism, and he belongs to the Jat community.
During his early years, Harshit faced serious struggles due to a recurring lower-back and glute injury. Between the ages of 12 and 14, this injury kept him out of Delhi’s Under-14 and Under-16 teams. He had to travel about 42 kilometers every day to Gurgaon for treatment while continuing school.

Harshit Rana is part of the BCCI central contract list in Category C. He earns 1 crore INR per year under this contract. He has already made his India debut in all three formats, playing two Tests, five ODIs, and one T20I.
