After retiring Goldberg and John Cena, WWE has something even bigger planned for “The Ring General”, Gunther.
As per WRKDWrestling, WWE is reportedly considering Gunther to be the final opponent that Brock Lesnar will face in his retirement match.
It has been reported for quite some time that Brock Lesnar is expected to retire next year, with his last match, possibly taking place at the 2026 SummerSlam.
All this shows how highly Triple H and the WWE management view Gunther. We have seen in the past that retiring a WWE legend isn’t easy and is definitely not something that can be done lightly.
However, Gunther first retired Goldberg, and recently, he closed the professional wrestling chapter of the Greatest Of All Time, John Cena.
If Gunther is the one who ends Brock Lesnar’s dominant WWE career. Then that moment will truly cement Gunther as one of the biggest WWE Superstars.
If we look at all this from a fan perspective, it will make sense. Brock Lesnar’s entire WWE career has been about raw power and destruction.
Meanwhile, Gunther, in his career so far, has showcased that he can hang in the ring with any WWE superstar of any caliber.
Not only this, but Gunther and Brock Lesnar’s wrestling styles also match, as both of these wrestlers believe in matches that are violent, physical, and serious.
Although nothing is yet confirmed, one thing we know about WWE is that they can change their plans anytime. But if Gunther really does end Brock Lesnar’s career, it would cement him as one of the most dominant names in modern WWE history.
