Australian all-rounder Cameron Green endured a tough turnaround as he was dismissed for a duck on Day 1 of the third Ashes Australia vs England Test at the Adelaide Oval on Wednesday.

Green was undone by England pacer Jofra Archer, who unsettled him with a sharp bouncer first up and then tempted him into a tentative poke off the pads on the very next ball. Brydon Carse completed the catch, leaving Australia struggling at 94 for four.

The dismissal came just a day after Green made headlines at the IPL 2026 Auction in Abu Dhabi, where he was snapped up by the Kolkata Knight Riders for a massive ₹25.2 crore. The price tag made him one of the most expensive players in IPL history. Green had entered the auction in the batters’ category and was sold in the very first set on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old had clarified last week that he would be available to bowl in the tournament, despite being listed only as a batter.

Green had also explained that his placement in the batters’ category, instead of the all-rounders’ list, was due to an administrative error by his manager.
