Smriti Mandhana has once again proved why she is the best player in this game; she has reclaimed the top spot in the ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings for batters, pushing South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt down to second.

After the recent controversy, which included her calling off her marriage, this must be a feel-good moment for her. With a rating of 811 points, Mandhana stayed at the top, and Wolvaardt slipped to 806 after a modest outing in South Africa’s recent ODI against Ireland.

South Africa’s Sune Luus was one of the big gainers after a composed half-century in the East London ODI. Her effort helped to move up to five places in the batters’ list and also earned her a jump in the all-rounders’ rankings.

Ireland players, Orla Prendergast, Laura Delany, Arlene Kelly, and Cara Murray, also moved up after solid contributions, showing encouraging depth in Ireland’s squad.

South African pacer Tumi Sekhukhune also had a ranking boost after picking up two wickets in the match, climbing several spots among ODI bowlers.
