Motorola has confirmed that the Motorola Edge 70 will launch in India on December 15, 2025. It will be sold via Flipkart and offline retail stores. The phone is being promoted as Motorola’s first ultra-slim smartphone.
The key highlight of the Motorola Edge 70 is its thickness. The phone measures 5.99mm, placing it among the slimmest smartphones available. It is slightly thicker than the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge at 5.8mm and the iPhone Air at 5.6mm, but slimmer than most mid-range phones. The Tecno Pova Slim is close at 5.95mm.
The Edge 70 has already launched in China as the Moto X70 Air and in Europe under the same Edge 70 name. The design remains largely unchanged for India, though the battery size may differ. There is no confirmation yet on whether India will get a larger battery.
The phone is expected to run on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, aimed at smooth daily performance. It is not positioned as a gaming-focused device but targets balanced performance and design.
The camera setup includes a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP front camera. Unlike the Edge 60, the Edge 70 does not include a telephoto lens, which may matter to users who rely on zoom photography.
The display is a 6.7-inch flat pOLED panel with 1.5K resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness is rated at up to 4,500 nits. Motorola has moved away from a curved screen this time, which may improve grip and reduce accidental touches.
Globally, the Edge 70 packs a 4,800 mAh battery. This is smaller than the 5,500 mAh battery seen on the Edge 60. Indian buyers are accustomed to 5,000 mAh batteries, so battery capacity will be a key factor once confirmed. There are rumors of a larger battery for India, but nothing official yet.
The Motorola Edge 70 is expected to be priced under Rs 35,000. Some listings suggest an expected price of around Rs 29,999 for the 8GB RAM variant. This places it above the Edge 60, which launched at Rs 25,999, and positions it as a premium mid-range phone.
In the Indian market, the Edge 70 will compete with phones like the Nothing Phone series, iQOO Neo models, and Samsung Galaxy A-series devices. Its ultra-slim design is expected to be its main differentiator in this segment.
The Motorola Edge 70 is aimed at users who value a slim, lightweight design with a high-quality display and solid performance, even if that comes with compromises in battery size and camera versatility.
