Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has been linked to several actresses over the years, yet he remains unmarried. In 2018, during a candid appearance at the TiE Global Summit, Salman finally addressed the question, and his funny explanation left everyone in splits.
Salman spoke about how his family has long been involved in charity, with the work he and his siblings do today under the banner of Being Human. He also revealed that people often approached him asking for ₹2 lakh to marry off their daughters, but he never paid attention to such requests.
On why he hasn’t tied the knot himself, Salman joked about how weddings have become extravagant affairs. “My father’s wedding cost only ₹180,” he said, humorously blaming filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya for turning weddings into grand spectacles through films like Maine Pyaar Kiya and Hum Saath Saath Hain.
He added, “Marriage has become such a big thing. You spend lakhs and lakhs and crores of money on getting somebody married. I can’t afford that. That’s the reason I am a single man.”
Salman’s love life has always been in the spotlight. His relationship with Aishwarya Rai in the late 1990s grabbed intense media attention. The two met on the sets of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and dated for a few years before a bitter breakup in 2002.
He also dated Sangeeta Bijlani for almost a decade; they even planned to marry but eventually called it off. Later, Salman was linked to Katrina Kaif, with whom he shared a close bond both on and off screen. Although they never officially confirmed their relationship, fans speculated they were together for several years before parting ways.
Currently, Salman is rumored to be dating Romanian actress and TV presenter Iulia Vantur. The couple is often spotted together, and Iulia even lent her voice to a song in his film Sikandar.
