After John Cena tapped out to GUNTHER in his last wrestling match, one question keeps popping up in everybody’s mind: Does Triple H actually hate Cena?
Fans inside the arena booed Triple H, and online, the conversation quickly turned emotional. Many felt Cena deserved a better ending, and some even questioned whether Triple H had intentionally ruined Cena’s moment.
During the SNME post-show, the crowd was angry, and the criticism grew so intense that Triple H addressed it directly during the post-show. Hunter made it pretty clear there is no bad blood between anyone, and the decision wasn’t personal.
As per Hunter, Cena has always believed in leaving WWE better than he found it, which actually means that Cena wanted to put Gunther over.
Hunter further said, “There are time-honored traditions in this business,” explaining that it was Cena’s decision, because that’s who he really is, he always wants to put people over.
Even after all this, fans are still speculating that Triple H is responsible for what is believed to be a failed retirement tour. After decades of blood and sweat, fans wanted Cena to go out with a happy ending.
Triple H acknowledged the backlash and accepted it, saying he has “big shoulders” and can handle the criticism.
