After Gunther defeated John Cena at the Saturday Night Main Event, WWE fans were not happy. Fans at the Capital One Arena in Washington started chanting “F*ck Triple H” and “Bull Sh*t” after Cena tapped out.
Not only was it visible that no one was happy with this decision. Social media exploded with fans questioning the decision and blaming WWE’s Chief Content Officer for the booking.
Comments flooded X and Instagram, calling the decision “heartbreaking,” “unnecessary,” and even “disrespectful.”
Some fans argued that in Cena’s last wrestling match, he deserved to go out on a high, especially considering his legacy, records, and impact on WWE.
Triple H has made some questionable decisions during his creative run, but no decision has brought such a reaction.
During the post SNME show, when Triple H was talking, fans were chanting “You f*cked up,” “Baldie,” “We don’t care,” “We Want Vince,” “LA Knight,” “F*ck you Baldie,” and “AEW.”
Only time will tell what this could lead to, as professional wrestling fans do not forget these things easily.
