Ubisoft suffered a major security breach on 27-dec-2025, the hackers breached the servers of the game Rainbow six siege. During the hack, every player was given 2 billion in-game currency and every skin, including developer-only items.
Hackers also flooded the kill feed with song lyrics and messages. It is estimated that the hackers technically gifted players with $13.33 million worth of in-game currency, which in total is $339 trillion dollars considering the current active player base.
The company took action on the issue by shutting down the in-game marketplace and shutting down the servers of the game. The company also took action by undoing all transactions made by the players during the security breach and also confirmed to not ban players that spent the gifted transactions.
Beyond rainbow six siege, there were reports of hackers accessing 900 GB of Ubisoft’s internal data and allegedly stealing source code for almost every game of Ubisoft since the 1990s, and also the data of their upcoming games and future projects.
But these are just rumors for now, they has not yet confirmed about anything beyond the Rain bow six siege, for the current situation the hackers accessing and stealing their data is still rumored to be not true, this could be the misinformation spread by people on ‘X’.
