How long is the last episode of Stranger Things: With the second batch of episodes from the final season now streaming, Stranger Things is heading toward its ultimate ending, with just one episode left before the curtain falls on Netflix’s biggest sci-fi series.

Episodes 5, 6, and 7 of Season 5 dropped on Christmas Day, continuing the story from the first four episodes that premiered on November 26. These episodes directly set up the highly anticipated series finale.

The final episode of Stranger Things will premiere on New Year’s Eve, Wednesday, December 31. Fans won’t have to wait until midnight, as the episode will drop at 8 pm ET / 5 pm PT.

For the first time in the show’s history, the finale will also get a theatrical release. The episode, titled “The Rightside Up,” will premiere simultaneously on Netflix and in more than 350 theaters across the US and Canada. Theater screenings will continue through January 1, 2026.

According to creators Matt and Ross Duffer, the finale has a runtime of 2 hours and 8 minutes, making it the longest episode of the series.

The Duffer Brothers have officially confirmed the runtimes for the last four episodes of the show:

  • Episode 5 – “Shock Jock”: 1 hour 8 minutes
  • Episode 6 – “Escape From Camazotz”: 1 hour 15 minutes
  • Episode 7 – “The Bridge”: 1 hour 6 minutes
  • Episode 8 – “The Rightside Up”: 2 hours 8 minutes
