BCCI: The substantial hike was approved by the Board's Apex Council.

Riding high on India’s historic first Women’s ODI World Cup title, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a major increase in match fees for women cricketers and match officials in domestic cricket. The decision aims to create a fairer pay structure and improve financial security across the domestic system.

The pay hike was approved by the BCCI’s Apex Council and marks one of the biggest financial boosts for women’s domestic cricket in India.

Under the new structure, senior women cricketers playing domestic tournaments will now earn Rs 50,000 per day, a sharp rise from the earlier Rs 20,000 per match day. Reserve players, who earlier earned Rs 10,000, will now receive Rs 25,000 per day.

For senior women’s domestic one-day and multi-day tournaments, players named in the playing XI will be paid Rs 50,000 per day, while reserves will earn Rs 25,000 per day. In national T20 tournaments, players in the starting XI will receive Rs 25,000 per match day, with reserves getting Rs 12,500.

According to BCCI officials, a top domestic woman cricketer who plays a full season across all formats can now earn between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 14 lakh, a significant jump compared to previous seasons.

The revised pay structure also extends to junior women cricketers. Players in the Under-23 and Under-19 categories will now be paid Rs 25,000 per day, while reserves in these age groups will receive Rs 12,500 per day.

Match officials to get richer after BCCI Announcement

Match officials are also set to benefit from the BCCI pay changes. Umpires and match referees officiating league matches in domestic tournaments will now earn Rs 40,000 per day. For knockout matches, the daily fee will range between Rs 50,000 and Rs 60,000, depending on the importance and demands of the match.

With the new rates, umpires officiating in Ranji Trophy league matches are expected to earn around Rs 1.60 lakh per game, while knockout matches could fetch them between Rs 2.5 lakh and Rs 3 lakh per match.

The BCCI believes this revised pay structure will provide greater motivation and financial stability to women cricketers and domestic match officials while strengthening India’s domestic cricket ecosystem following the country’s landmark Women’s World Cup triumph.
