
Actor James Ransone, best known for playing Ziggy Sobotka in The Wire and adult Eddie Kaspbrak in It: Chapter Two, has been found dead at the age of 46, according to reports.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed that Ransone died on Friday. Multiple media reports said he was found dead at his home in Los Angeles, with the manner of death listed as suicide by hanging.

According to TMZ, the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call at the actor’s residence and carried out a death investigation. Authorities said no foul play was suspected.
In past interviews, Ransone had spoken openly about his mental health struggles. He had also shared details about a period of heroin addiction and abuse during his childhood.

Ransone rose to fame through his role in the acclaimed HBO series The Wire. He later gained wider recognition for his performance in It: Chapter Two. His film work included Tangerine, Sinister, Sinister 2, Spike Lee’s remake of Oldboy, The Black Phone and its sequel. The Black Phone 2 marked his final film appearance.
On television, Ransone appeared in several popular shows, including Poker Face, Law & Order, Hawaii Five-0, SEAL Team, and The First.
