Vaibhav Suryavanshi produced a historic performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy against Arunachal Pradesh. He scored a century in just 36 balls, becoming the youngest player to score a List A century.

With this innings, he broke Zahoor Elahi’s 39-year-old record. He also became the second fastest Indian to score a List A century, behind Anmolpreet Singh, who holds the Indian record with a 35-ball hundred.

During the same innings, Vaibhav Suryavanshi broke AB de Villiers’ record for the fastest 150 in men’s List A cricket. He reached 150 runs in just 59 balls, surpassing AB de Villiers, who had scored 150 in 64 balls against the West Indies in 2015.

Jos Buttler is third on this list, having reached 150 in 65 balls against the Netherlands in 2022. Vaibhav scored 154 runs largely through boundaries and narrowly missed a double century.

In terms of the fastest List A centuries worldwide, the record belongs to Jake Fraser-McGurk, who scored a century in 29 balls. AB de Villiers is second with a 31-ball century.

In Indian List A cricket, Anmolpreet Singh leads with a 35-ball century, followed by Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s 36-ball hundred.

Other Indians on the list include Yusuf Pathan, who scored a 40-ball century in 2010; Urvil Patel, with a 41-ball century in 2023; and Abhishek Sharma, who reached his hundred in 42 balls in 2021.
